3- Now left click the 'Custom level' button at the bottom of the window.
4- In the settings window scroll down to 'Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins'.
5- Make sure that 'Enabled' or 'Prompt' is selected. 'Enabled' means that ActiveX will always be on and 'Prompt' means that you will be asked if you want to use ActiveX.
6. Click 'OK' and you will be asked 'Are you sure you want to change the security settings for this zone?' click 'yes' to close the 'Security Settings' window, then click 'OK' again to close the 'Internet Options' window. ActiveX should now be activated.
