Due to popular demand, we've now managed to integrate a surname-only search into the master search system. It is only for premium subscribers (if you only have a trial version, you will need to buy a full subscription to use this feature).
It will allow you to see results per year, then results per county, then the whole list of results (provided there are 50 or less, otherwise you'll need to put in a forename or age).
We've also added database birth, marriage and death records (1984-2004) to the master search.
All customers, including pay-as-you-go, can
also do a surname- or forename-only search in the normal census
transcript county search page provided there are
50 or less results. An advanced search lets you refine and
view the entries.
The following census transcripts are now completed and online: Bedfordshire 1851 & 1871, Northamptonshire 1861, Isle of Man 1851 and Westmorland 1851; also available as name indexes.

We have put the current progress on the following census indexes online: Worcestershire 1861, Somerset 1861, Warwickshire 1871 and Devon 1841.
A number of our subscribers have been asking for a name search on all our databases.
As a major step towards this we have just launched our Master Search which works on all our completed census transcripts - premium subscribers should see the new link on their subscription page.
Just type in a name and you find out approximately how many results there are for each year. Clicking the 'Full Search' button then takes you to a list of results for each county.
If you click to the next level you'll reach the usual county/year search page with all the results for that county.
We hope this will prove a valuable and time-saving feature and as new transcripts are completed we will add them into the master search.
Not got an premium subscription? Use the link on the front page to give the Master Search a try. (Not available if you have already had an premium subscription).
